Spring Creek Communicator May 17, 2024
It was another busy week at Spring Creek filled with fun and learning! Details below, and don’t forget to scroll down for PAC Corner.
There were field trips off to The Core climbing gym, Dominos pizza-making, and a class who participated in a city council meeting on Wednesday! Students discussed with Council members their ideas about Climate Change, Building Community, Housing in Whistler and Responsible Tourism. Congratulations on making an impact!
Track and Field
After a fantastic day of Track and Field last week our Spring Creek Bears are now looking towards Districts. Any students who qualified top three or were interested in attending came to a meeting on Wednesday. They should have brought home a permission form and more information. The District Event is May 22nd and 23rd. May 22nd is Grade 4/5 Track and Grade 6/7 Field, on May 23rd it is Grade 4/5 Field and Grade 6/7 Track. If any students did NOT receive a permission form, please send them to room 268 to see Ms. Smith.
PA-MOJA
The Spring Creek Pa-Moja Club held its last meeting for the year on Wednesday, May 15th. We celebrated a successful year of learning and fundraising by having a celebration with Kenyan Chai tea and Canadian cupcakes. Our students are very hard working and both Nicole Young and Vicki Swan have thouroughly enjoyed working with such an enthusiastic group this year. The club has made over $1,300.00 for our Bursary student Vincent Jama in Kenya and for other Pa-Moja projects.
We will start the club again at the end of September.
PA-MOJA is a small, non-profit organization founded in 2006, helping Kenyan children go to school and helping conservation effort of the OlPejeta Conservancy in Kenya. For more information go to https://pa-moja.com

Thank you to everyone who attended our community celebration last Saturday (The weather couldn’t have been better😎).
A huge thank you to our event supports Whistler Real Estate Company, Nesters Market, and Fresh St. Market. Also a huge shout out to DJ Ira for keeping the music going all event long and hosting an epic dance party as well!
