🎶 It’s the most wonderful time of the year… 🎶🙂
Happy Friday Spring Creek Families!
What a fantastic first week here at SCCS. Students reconnected to friends and teachers, met new classmates and enjoyed learning and playing on the ancestral and unceded territories of both the Skwxwú7mesh and Lil’wat Nations.
Please join me in thanking the ENTIRE staff here at Spring Creek for a very smooth transition from summer to school. They have already put in a great deal of time and care to make the return to school as enjoyable as they can for ALL our students.
Below you’ll find some helpful information about (1) Orange Shirt Day, (2) How to Support Youth Mental Health, (3) Terry Fox Run, (4) Kindergarten Schedule for Next Week, (5) School Fees, (6) Important upcoming SCCS dates and finally (7) Connecting with our Parent Advisory Council (PAC).
If you need to purchase an Orange Shirt for your or your child before the 26th, our local SLCC sells them in a variety of adult and kid sizes: https://shop.slcc.ca/products/search?keyword=orange%20shirt
Also important to note on your calendar is our National Day for Truth & Reconciliation on the following Tuesday Sept. 30th (No School).
On Tuesday Sept. 23rd, Spring Creek students will be running & walking in memory of Terry Fox, as we hold our annual Terry Fox Run. The run will take place at 1:10pm. We are looking for parents/ guardians to assist with the run. These volunteers will be marshals on the course or running the route with the students. If you are able to volunteer please sign up via the Sign Up Genius – CLICK HERE or email Melissa Smith - [email protected] Melissa will reach out to all volunteers closer to the run with more information!
We will have a donation jar at the front of the school that children/ parents can put money into until September 23rd. The money raised will be donated to The Terry Fox Foundation to help fund Cancer Research.
Kindergarten students continue to follow a different schedule for the first part of next week Please click the link here
If you haven’t done so already, we ask that families pay a school supply fee in early September by using SchoolCash Online, $45 for primary and $55 for intermediate. At the same time, teachers will order school supplies for their classes. More info can be found here.
