May 30 2025 - Spring Creek Communicator

Dear Spring Creek Families,

I hope you all had a wonderful week as we step into the month of June.

A heartfelt thank you to our PAC for supporting this week’s visit from the H.R. MacMillan Space Centre. On Tuesday and Wednesday, students had the opportunity to explore science through the lens of space. The mobile space dome transformed our gym into an immersive, IMAX-style experience that sparked curiosity and wonder in our young scientists.

Looking ahead, we’re excited to participate in the Whistler Public Library Summer Reading Program visit on Wednesday, followed by our annual BioBlitz event on Thursday—two more great opportunities to celebrate learning in the outdoors and in our community.

Please also mark your calendars for the following upcoming events:

  • Fun Day – Friday, June 13
  • Grade 7 Leaving Ceremony – 1pm Friday, June 20

Wishing everyone a joyful and engaging week ahead.

Kind Regards,

Nolan Cox

Honored to be working, learning, and playing on the traditional, unceded, ancestral territories of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh, Úxwumixw and St’át’imc Nations.

We are also excited to participate in GOBYBIKE Week starting tomorrow May 31-June 2 ! We encourage families to swap their 4 wheels for 2, and ride to school! Each class will be tracking the number of kilometers each student rides. Plus it's not just limited to commuting! You can include the km's you ride on trails around town as well. We appreciate parents helping their students with this initiative for the week. If you live too far away to bike to school, maybe there's a way you could park & ride for a portion of your commute? Get creative!

A little delayed but please still give a round of applause to our Spring Creek’s representatives at the North District Sea-to-Sky Speakers Student Speech Event!

Four winners were selected from the Intermediate Public Speaking Event at Spring Creek.  These four winners presented their speeches at Whistler Secondary School in front of a crowd of parents, teachers, and community members.  Congratulations to :

Peyton Hoverd- Why euthanizing animals in shelters needs to stop

Ella Koshul- Why college should be free

Sanna Mckown- Whistler Sports

Chelsea Roberts- How your favorite TV shows can affect your behavior

We are already looking forward to next year’s intermediate speeches!
