Hello Spring Creek families,
 
It was another busy and full week at SCE. Our French Immersion Grade 6 and 7 students spent three action-filled days at Evans Lake Camp, where they braved the weather to participate in a diversity of activities. Students came off the bus on Wednesday will big smiles on their faces and lots of memories. Huge thanks to Ms. Ashleigh and Ms. Elizabeth for organizing this trip and also to the parent volunteers who accompanied the students. 
 
On Monday, Nolan Cox will be returning as Acting Principal of Spring Creek Elementary and I will be returning to Whistler Secondary School. It was lovely spending two weeks in SCE, getting to know the amazing teachers and staff, and to see purposeful learning happening in all classrooms, in a caring and kind atmosphere. 
 
On a side note, many of you will have heard about the "Bear Paws", where students have their name written on a bear paw paper cut-out, when they contribute positively to the school environment. These bear paws are then mounted to the wall, forming a long chain of good deeds that stretches through the hallways. There was a backlog in the Principal's office of bear paws that needed to be mounted to the wall, so I tried to put as many of them up as possible. It was inspiring to me to add meters and meters of bear paws to the walls, and in doing so, read all of the wonderful acts of kindness, compassion, and integrity that students are demonstrating every day.

I look forward to welcoming these students, when their time comes, to Whistler Secondary School!
