Apr 04 2025 - Spring Creek Communicator
Hello everyone and welcome back to school,
It has been a beautiful week of spring weather for the return to school after Spring Break. As you know, I have the pleasure of serving as the Acting Principal of Spring Creek Elementary for this week and next. As someone who has worked in secondary education for my entire career, it has been very enjoyable to meet the SCE community and to learn some of the inner workings of the school. Every day, I am seeing examples of passionate educators, engaged learners and a school community that has been very kind and welcoming to me.
While this week has been about settling back into school routines, already we have had students out at Meadow Park swimming, visiting the RMOW Library and the Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre and having First Aid training. There are exciting things in the days and weeks ahead, including a 3-day trip to Evans Lake Camp for our older students, presentations by Bear Aware, authors coming to speak to our students, and the quickly growing salmon that are being looked after by our younger students which will be released in the near future.
As a gentle reminder, if you are coming to pick you child up early for whatever reason, that must occur at the Main Office. Please avoid having your child meet you directly in the parking lot, or walking onto the fields to collect them. For our school safety and student tracking, all students leaving early must check in with Ms. Tia or myself at the office before they can be dismissed from school.
I hope everyone is able to enjoy the warm sunny weather coming our way.
