Mar 07 2025 - Spring Creek Communicator

Dear Spring Creek Families,

One more week ahead of us before Spring Break…

This week saw our staff and students present their learning on Tuesday and Wednesday at the Parent-Teacher Conferences. It was a great opportunity for students to showcase the great work and achievement throughout the term. Many thanks to staff, students, and parents for coming together to celebrate and share in the students’ accomplishments.

Ms. Young and Ms. Aboussafy’s classes enjoyed a day of XC skiing in the Callaghan Valley on Thursday. They had a great time, and the weather was a blue-bird day. Special thanks to everyone who helped to make it happen.

Our Mighty Bears played the XCS Eagles Thursday afternoon, coming away with another win for the season. Way to go, Bears! On March 12, our Bears will be traveling to Don Ross Middle School for a district tournament. We will be well represented for what will undoubtedly be a hard-fought battle on the courts.

On March 13th, Ms. Palmer and the students will be hosting the Filmmaker’s Showdown. This is a yearly Fine Arts Event showcasing the creative cinematic talents of our students.

As well, Sales Day is on March 13th to showcase Div 4’s learning from the Business of Our Own program! The grade 6/7 students will be selling a range of items they have made themselves including baked goods and mystery boxes filled with handmade creations. All items for sale will range from $2 to $10 and students can find posters around the school to learn more about the products!

Lastly, please note that the SCE Lost and Found has numerous items that have been misplaced by students. Please ask your child(ren) to have a look in the lost and found to see if there are any unclaimed items. It will be outside the school this weekend for collection if you want to stop by after hours to have a look.

Please note that school will not be in session from Monday March 17th to Friday March 28th, and will resume Monday March 31st.

On behalf of the team at SCE, have a wonder weekend.

Kind Regards,

Nolan Cox

Honoured to be working and learning on the unceded and ancestral territories of the Swxwú7mesh Úxwumixw and St'át'y'emc Nations.
