Feb 21, 2025 - Spring Creek Communicator

Dear Spring Creek Families,

At the time of this writing, Spring Creek staff and students responded remarkably to the small earthquake that we experienced around 1:26 pm today. As part of our safety protocols, we immediately followed our earthquake response and evacuation plan. Students and staff responded calmly and efficiently, and our evacuation process went exceptionally well. Once we received the all-clear, everyone returned to their classrooms, and learning resumed. WELL DONE, SPRING CREEK!!!

Students enjoyed a day of learning about potential career opportunities through the “Find Your Fit” workshop put on through WorkSafe BC. A huge Thanks to Ms. Smith for arranging the amazing opportunity for our students to learn about different career avenues including aviation, electrician, mechanic, and early childhood educator, to name a few.

A few things coming next week including the Grade 5 MDI survey on Monday and Pink Shirt Day on Wednesday. For more information on how Pink Shirt Day got started, check out this animated CBC Kids video.

Thursday will see SCE Elementary host XCS. Come on out and cheer on the Bears!

An advanced reminder that Parent Teacher Conferences are happening March 4 and 5.

A message from Nicole Young & Vicki Swan - Thank you to all those families who came out to the Pa-Moja Club movie night on February 13.  We raised $614.00. This money will go to support our bursary student, Vincent Jama,  so he can continue his education In Kenya.  The Spring Creek Pa-Moja Club has been operating at the school since 2014.  Students learn about education, animal conservation, and culture in Kenya while raising funds to support student bursaries.
